How to get there

Oropesa del Mar is located between Valencia, Castellón and Tarragona. Boasting convenient and low-traffic road access, Oropesa del Mar has two main roads into the town – the AP-7 and the N-340.

• From the AP-7 or N-340 travelling towards Castellón and Valencia: take exit 45 (if coming from the AP-7), and once you have passed through the toll booths, take the N-340 on the right, towards the town centre, which is approximately one kilometre away, entering the city via Calle de Mestrat and then Calle de Laura de Cervellón, or continuing along calle José Rivera Forner, followed by Avenida de la Plana.
• From the N-340 towards Tarragona - Barcelona: Enter the town along Calle Moncófar. Next, take Avenida la Plana if you want to go towards La Concha Beach, or Calle José Rivera Forner and then Calle Laura de Cervellón if you want to go to Morro de Gos Beach or Les Amplàries Beach (Marina d'Or).

The Oropesa del Mar RENFE train station is located in the Plaza de la Estación s/n, halfway between the town centre and the beach, just a few hundred metres away.

To travel to Oropesa by train from Valencia or Castellón, you can take the Medium Distance or Long Distance train that leaves from Valencia's Estación del Norte to Tarragona or Barcelona, and which also stops at Castellón Station, on Talgo, Alaris or Regional Express trains, depending on the type of ticket and the type of train. The journey takes between 1 hour and 1.5 hours from Valencia. From Castellón, it takes between 15 and 30 minutes.

The Regional train line from Vinaròs to Valencia has been reinforced which means that you have many more timetables to travel to the North of the province (Torreblanca, Alcalà, Benicarlò-Peñíscola, Vinaròs) or to the South (Benicàssim, Castellón, Sagunto, Valencia).

Most of the year it is also possible to travel along the coast of Oropesa with a tourist train (659 617 484).

If you are travelling to Oropesa del Mar by air, there are two airports serving the area – Manises Airport in Valencia and Castellón Airport. Manises airport is located 95 km from Oropesa, while Castellón Airport is 30 km away.

GETTING TO OROPESA DEL MAR FROM BOTH AIRPORTS

From Valencia (Manises) airport:

If you've rented a car, take the V-11 dual carriageway (the Airport road) and head towards the V-30, taking the V-30 exit. After approximately 2 km, take the A-7 exit going towards Barcelona, Castellón and Teruel. At Puzol, the A-7 becomes a toll road and its name changes to AP-7. Continue along the toll road and take exit 45.

If you're taking public transport from Valencia airport, take metroline 3 into the city of Valencia. Get off at Xàtiva station, which is located opposite the RENFE (mainline) train station, Estación del Norte. There, you'll need to take a Regional Train or Long Distance train that connects Valencia to Tortosa (Tarragona) or Barcelona and stops at Oropesa del Mar . Regional train routes stop at Sagunto, Vila-Real, Castellón and Benicássim before arriving at Oropesa del Mar.

Desde el Aeropuerto de Castellón:

If you rent a car, take the CV-13 towards AP-7/N-340 to the town of Torreblanca, where you take the N-340 towards Castellón. If you continue along the N-340 for 16 kilometres you will find the exit for Oropesa del Mar.
By public transport, there is a bus line that runs from Castellón Airport to the town of Oropesa del Mar.
